Run O’Hare Run

I have always, always  always hated running and there’s one basic reason why I feel this way – it hurts. For this reason I have wanted to take up running for some years, just to prove to myself that I can. Now finally I’m committed to my cause. If you followed my timswim blog last autumn you’ll know that I like to have a target and I like to record my progress so it won’t come as a surprise to know that I’m going to set myself a running target and, of course, I’ll be recording how I am getting on here. At the moment the target is a little vague but I have an idea to run in a race (I won’t actually be racing) called the “Tavy 7″ in early November. It’s a seven mile (11.2 kilometre) run based in Tavistock, just north of Plymouth. I’ll also probably try and slot in a shorter race some time in October. [What an absolutely joke that last couple of sentences is - my running ground to a halt once term-time started, not helped by getting a bad cold and getting out of the habit. I've hardly even been swimming either. All very depressing - MUST DO BETTER.]

Down below you can see how far I have run and when. To start off with I am running on a treadmill at the gym so my distances are pretty exact. Each # symbol below represents 0.4km and the numbers at the end of each row are the total run distance in kilometres.
